ABOUT DR. MCCRAY

Dr. Ayanna Johnson McCray is a board certified pediatrician who has been practicing for 15 years. She is excited to return to King George county where she has been seeing children since 2006.

Dr. McCray is a proud graduate of Virginia Union University. She completed medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School and her residency at University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina in Greenville, NC. After spending her residency in North Carolina she longed to return home to Virginia to practice rural medicine. She grew up in nearby Spotsylvania county and gets a kick out of seeing former sports rivals in her practice.

Dr. McCray lives in Henrico county with her husband and son. She enjoys spending time with her family at sporting events and playing video games. She spends her commute engrossed in audiobooks or educational lectures.

She looks forward to bringing quality healthcare to the younger population of King George and the surrounding counties. She has formed meaningful bonds with many families and looks to establish many more with new families. She believes it takes a village to raise a child and feels honored to be a part of that village along with the families, schools, daycare providers and community programs. Her plan is to provide a medical home that keeps pace with healthcare’s constantly changing landscape.
